Gas Malaysia slips on negative surprise from IBR

Shares of Gas Malaysia Bhd fell to a low of on Thursday on negative news about the introduction of incentive-based regulation (IBR) for the gas sector.

At 11.08am, Gas Malaysia was down four sen to RM2.53. There were 143,400 shares done at prices ranging from RM2.53 to RM2.57.

The FBM KLCI fell 2.71 points or 0.16% to 1,724.15. Turnover was 531.36 million shares valued at RM400il. There were 287 gainers, 246 losers and 249 counters unchanged.

CIMB Equities Research lowered its target price for Gas Malaysia from RM2.89 to RM2.25 as the IBR could be implemented by as soon as January 2016.
