The ringgit extended yesterday's gains to open higher against the US dollar as interest emerged for Asian currencies, including the ringgit, dealers said.
At 9.05 am, the ringgit was quoted at 3.8045/8075 against the greenback from Wednesday's 3.8050/8080.
Against other major currencies, the ringgit was also traded higher.
The local note was up against the yen at 3.0696/0730 from Wednesday's 3.0790/0817, strengthened against the Singapore dollar to 2.7833/7875 from 2.7912/7942 yesterday.
It rose against the euro to 4.1587/1635 from 4.1958/1998 previously and appreciated against the pound sterling to 5.9445/9507 from 5.9506/9572 on Wednesday.
