Fresh from its purchase of Project 3B, Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has now submitted a proposal to buy 1Malaysia Development Bhd’s (1MDB) power assets both locally and abroad.
The utility giant told the stock exchange yesterday that it had submitted an indicative non-binding proposal to acquire the five domestic and eight international power assets held through 1MDB’s power unit, Edra Global Energy Bhd.
“TNB would like to emphasise that it remains in the initial stages of its assessment of Edra’s power assets.
“Therefore, there can be no assurance that any transaction will be concluded,” TNB said in the regulatory filing.
