Compugates Holdings Bhd’s unit has received a letter of offer from Lower Sepik Holdings Ltd (LSHL) to undertake logging in Papua New Guinea covering an area nearly the size of Singapore.
The consumer electronic product distributor said on Wednesday its unit Compugates Perak Sdn Bhd was awarded the contract to enter the Lower Sepik forest area in the East Sepik Province of PNG to carry out the evaluation and assessment.
The evaluation would cover 70,000ha (172,973 acres) of forested land before Compugates Perak can make the final decision whether to enter into a binding commercial enterprise with LSHL or not.
