Power giant Tenaga Nasional led blue chips higher early Friday after its strong third quarter earnings while BAT staged a mild rebound after two straight days of losses following its weak financial performance.
At 9.30am, the KLCI was up 1.98 points or 0.12% to 1,660.48. Turnover was 245.36 million shares valued at RM107.21mil. There were 148 gainers, 131 losers and 219 counters unchanged.
Reuters reported Asian shares held near one-year highs while the yen hit a two-week high on Friday in nervous trade as investors waited to see if the Bank of Japan will come up with stimulus that would meet markets' expectations.
