Seasoned investor Tan Sri Chua Ma Yu (pic) has raised his stake in Malaysia Building Society Bhd (MBSB) to 8.97% from 6.06% through subscription of the company’s rights issue.
Filings showed that the second-largest shareholder in MBSB now owns a direct stake of 3.77%, or 218.34 million shares, and indirect interests of 5.2%, or 301.52 million shares in the non-bank financial services provider.
The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) remains the single-largest shareholder in MBSB, with a 65.1% stake.
