Online businesses taxation is fair to other taxpayers earning a taxable income and contributing towards government revenue, said Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Chua Tee Yong.
The Ministry of Finance (MOF) is currently looking to tax online businesses next year, in line with the growing Internet-based sector.
Chua was speaking at a press conference after witnessing the joint venture signing ceremony between Malaysia's leading real estate services company, C H Williams Talhar and Wong (WTW) Sdn Bhd and United States- based CBRE Group here on Wednesday.
"It is fair that in any business, whether involving brick-and-mortar or online, all should pay tax as relevant," he added.
