Natural gas for September delivery NGU14 +0.31% bucked the trend, however, up 6 cents, or 1.6%, to end at $3.8970 per million British thermal units. That was natural gas’s largest one-day dollar and percentage gain in nearly two weeks.

October platinum PLV4 +0.28%   dropped $10.70 to $1,455.90 an ounce, while September palladium PAU4 +0.05%   fell $6.75, or 0.8%, to $848.35 an ounce. High-grade copper for September delivery HGU4 -0.47%   slid 4 cents to $3.20 a pound.
