U.S. stock-index futures were pointed higher Sunday night about nine hours ahead of the New York open, shrugging off a mixed market in Asia. After opening late due to a technical issue on CME Group Inc.'s
CME, +0.29% Globex platform, futures for the S&P 500 SPX, -0.20% and Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.22% were each quoted 0.3% higher, while those for the Nasdaq 100 were up 0.4%.
Friday saw the S&P 500 and Dow industrials fall 0.2% each in regular trade, though the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.2%. Sunday night's positive picture for the U.S. markets came as Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index HSI, +0.30% ended morning trade with a 0.2% loss, though Tokyo's Nikkei Stock Average NIK, +0.51% was up 0.6% in afternoon trade.
