Earlier Thursday, the EIA reported natural-gas inventories had U.S. natural gas supplies increased 79 billion cubic feet on the week ended Aug. 29. The increase was higher than Wall Street expected; analysts polled by Platts had forecast a rise between 72 bcf and 76 bcf for the week.
