The U.S. dollar climbed against the euro and British pound on Monday as investors turned their attention to a looming vote on Scottish independence.
The euro EURUSD, -0.01% fell to $1.2938 Monday afternoon, from $1.2960 late Friday. The pound GBPUSD, -0.10% dropped to $1.6231 from $1.6265.
The U.S. dollar index DXY, +0.01% , which measures the greenback against a basket of widely-traded currencies, rose to 84.2440 from 84.2400 on Friday.
The U.S. dollar fell against the Japanese yen USDJPY, +0.03% to ¥107.17 from ¥107.33.
