In other metals trading, January platinum PLF5, +1.06% rose $12.90, or 1%, to $1,274.10 an ounce, while December palladium PAZ4, +0.69% gained $5.50, or 0.7%, to $791.45 an ounce. High-grade copper for December delivery HGZ4, +0.26% was unchanged at $3.04 a pound.
