Dollar higher against euro on Greek worries

The euro traded lower against the dollar Monday, after finishing the week higher against the buck on Friday, as the market worried that debt negotiations between Greek officials and the Mediterranean country’s creditors have yielded little progress.


The single currency EURUSD, -0.04%   traded at $1.0717 in recent trade, compared with $1.0805 Friday.

The New Zealand NZDUSD, -0.09%  and Australian dollars AUDUSD, -0.38% which rely heavily on China buying, initially moved higher on the news, but surrendered their gains in early New York trade.

The pound GBPUSD, -0.07%  traded at $1.4911, compared with $1.4945 Friday.
