Dollar finishes higher against euro for 3rd session

The dollar finished Wednesday’s North American session higher against the euro for the third day, putting it on track to post a weekly gain against the shared currency after five weeks of declines.

The euro EURUSD, +0.2433%  was recently trading at $1.1093,putting it on track to weaken against the dollar for a third day. It traded at $1.1150 late Tuesday in New York.

The market’s initial reaction to the minutes was “schizophrenic,” said Boris Schlossberg, managing director of FX Strategy at BK Asset Management. The dollar plummeted immediately after the minutes’ release, but quickly reversed direction and moved higher, pushing the euro to a session low of $1.1062, and the dollar to a session high of ¥121.57, also its highest level against the yen in two months.
