The government targets to implement the B10 biodiesel programme using crude palm oil (CPO) starting from October this year.
Its Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said on Monday: "We are looking at about one million tonnes of crude palm oil (CPO) usage per year from the B10 biodiesel programme.”
Uggah was speaking to reporters after officiating the 8th International Planters Conference 2015.
Presently, Malaysia is using the B7 biodiesel programme which was implemented in end-2014.
Uggah said about 700,000 tonnes of CPO per year were used in the B7 biodiesel programme.
