Asian Market Update : Epic Research Malaysia

Asian equity markets kicked off Wednesday trade mostly higher but the mood was cautious as investors digested a deluge of Chinese economic data.

The world's second-largest economy grew 7 percent on year in the April-June period, unchanged from the previous quarter but slightly better than Reuters estimates for a 6.9 percent rise. Meanwhile, June industrial output jumped an annual 6.8 percent, beating forecasts for 6 percent growth, while retail sales rose an annual 10.6 percent last month, also above view.

Greece remains in the spotlight after Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras went on national television on Tuesday, saying the country has no choice but to accept what he called a "one-way street" European bailout deal.
