Malaysia's benchmark stock index rose 0.6 per cent in early trade on Wednesday after Fitch kept Malaysia's credit rating at A- and raised its outlook to stable from negative.
The market opened up 5.64 points higher at 1,709.77 points and extended its gains in early trade.
As at 9.00am, some 39.98 million shares worth RM15.6 million were traded.
Gainers outnumbered losers 160 to 34.
