Hong Kong-listed Nirvana Asia Ltd has entered into an agreement to acquire approximately 75.2 hectares of cemetery land in Medan, Indonesia, marking its first major expansion in the republic.
The bereavement care service provider has a presence in Jakarta since 2003. The move will further strengthen the group’s market coverage in Asia to reinforce Nirvana Asia’s status as one of the largest integrated bereavement care service providers in the region.
In a statement, Nirvana Asia said it had on Sept 2 entered into an agreement to acquire a 70.0% interest in PT Nirvana Memorial Nusantara for a consideration of 17.5 billion Indonesian Rupiah (about US$1.3mil).
