Maybank Investment Bank Research expects Tenaga Nasional Bhd’s fourth quarter core net profit to come in at about RM1bil, which is 31% lower year-on-year (y-o-y) and 42% higher quarter-on-quarter (q-o-q).
That will bring its financial year ending Aug 31, 2015 (FY15) net profit to about RM6.5bil, which will be in-line with the research house’s forecast. The latest set of results will be released on Oct 29.
“Generation for the quarter totalled 29,814 GWh, which added 0.2% y-o-y and 1.1% q-o-q,” said the research house on Tuesday.
It added that TNB’s fuel mix was largely unchanged sequentially, with gas, coal and hydro accounting for 51%, 44% and 4% of total generation respectively.
