AirAsia Bhd is engaging its sister company AirAsia X Bhd’s 49% owned Thai Airasia X Co Ltd (TAAX) to operate five round Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur charter flights to mitigate its operational constraint during the year-end peak travel season.
The low-cost carrier told Bursa Malaysia that it had on Wednesday signed a a passenger charter services agreement with TAAX for the flights, which would occur between Dec 24 and Jan 1 next year.
AirAsia is spending US$225,000 (RM968,957) for the five charter trips, or US$45,000 per round trip.
