The Sarawak state government has informed Zecon Bhd on Friday that toll collection and operation at the Tun Salahuddin Bridge in Kuching will crease at midnight on Dec 31.
It was reported that the 339m-long bridge over the Sarawak River contributed RM15.6mil to Zecon’s group revenue for the financial year to June 30, 2015. The toll concession began in October 2003.
The engineering and construction company said at Zecon’s request, the state government was in favour of acquiring the toll building and the land on which it was sited, both of which belong to Zecon Toll Concessionaire Sdn Bhd.
