The dollar edged lower against the euro and yen late Wednesday as a rally in oil prices faded and the Federal Reserve’s Beige Book painted a mixed picture of the U.S. economy.
The so-called Beige Book—a collection of anecdotes about U.S. business activity—showed manufacturing, agricultural, and energy sectors continue to struggle.
The ICE U.S. Dollar index DXY, +0.11% a measure of the bucks’ strength against a basket of six rivals, was down 0.1% at 98.9440 late Wednesday in New York after spending most of the session in the green.
