Export-driven glove makers climbed in late Tuesday morning trade as the ringgit lost ground against the major currencies especially the US dollar.
At 11.11am, the KLCI was down 6.03 points ot 0.35% to 1,719.21 in line with the weaker Asian markets. Turnover was 588 million shares valued at RM509.60mil. There were 265 gainers, 388 losers and 289 counters unchanged.
The ringgit weakened to a low of 3.9290 against the greenback and by 11.20am, it was at 3.9195 from the 3.9005 the previous day.
Top Glove rose 14 sen to RM5.18, Supermax added 13 sen to RM2.73 and Kossan 11 sen to RM6.11.
