Brewers up after mild hike in selling prices

Shares of Heineken and Carlsberg rose on Tuesday after they raised their average selling prices by 2% to 2.5%

At 11.42am, Heineken was up 44 sen to RM16.64 with 124,800 shares done.
Carlsberg rose 18 sen to RM13.76 with 73,600 shares done.

The FBM KLCI fell 6.0 points or 0.36%to 1,648.84. Turnover was 447.81 million shares valued at RM508.71mil. There were 227 gainers, 327 losers and 307 counters unchanged.

CIMB Equities Research said after the expiry of the anti-profiteering act on June 30, 2016, both brewers reported a price adjustment that resulted in a hike of 2%-2.5% in average selling prices (ASPs).
