Fifa World Cup Market News Update : Epic Research Malaysia

Germany will this week issue a World Cup victory postage stamp, five million of which were printed before the final was even held, officials said on Monday.

"This year I dared to hope very early on that our team would take the title," said Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble.

"It's wonderful that the team turned this dream into a reality. I hope that this stamp will remind many citizens of the immense joy the team has given us."

The 60-cent stamp, marked "Germany Football World Champion 2014", will go on sale on Thursday after the first commemorative copies are presented to the coach, players and team staff.

A Germany side chasing a place in history will attempt to wreck Lionel Messi's dream of a World Cup coronation with Argentina on Sunday as the month-long football carnival hits a climax at the Maracana Stadium.

The 64th game of one of the best World Cups of all time pits Europe against South America - a duel between two football superpowers in one of the sport's most evocative arenas.
Germany are attempting to become the first side from Europe to win a World Cup in the Americas, determined that a golden generation will finally gets it reward after a string of near-misses.

Messi, meanwhile, is seeking the triumph which will silence forever the remaining critics who argue that the absence of a World Cup title precludes him from a place alongside Diego Maradona in football's pantheon.

Fifa World Cup Market News Update : Epic Research Malaysia

Rio de Janeiro braced Thursday for up to 100,000 Argentine fans arriving by car, bus and motorhome for the World Cup final against Germany at the iconic Maracana Stadium.
Argentina had already sent the biggest contingent of fans to Brazil during the month-long tournament, flooding cities to follow their hero Lionel Messi's team, even though many have not even had tickets to the games.

Tens of thousands who were in Sao Paulo for Wednesday's semi-final triumph against the Netherlands hit the road the next day for the six-hour trek across the southeastern region ahead of Sunday's final.

They were joining others who have been in Rio for days already, anticipating their team's triumph while camping out at the Terreirao do Samba, an open-air concert venue now packed with cars, minibuses and motorhomes.

Fifa World Cup Market News Update : Epic Research Malaysia

Brazilians might have thought that their World Cup nightmare couldn't possibly get any worse - and then bitter rivals Argentina reached the final in their own backyard Wednesday.

Still agonising over their traumatic 7-1 semi-final defeat to Germany just 24 hours earlier, Brazilians will now have to watch Argentina and their superstar Lionel Messi battle for the trophy in Rio de Janeiro's legendary Maracana Stadium on Sunday.

Many Brazilians rooted for the Netherlands to beat their South American neighbors in Wednesday's semi-final. But Argentina saw off the dogged Dutch 4-2 in a penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw in 120 minutes of attritional stalemate.
