October platinum PLV4 -0.34% gained $10.40, or 0.7%, to $1,506.90 an ounce, while September palladium PAU4 +0.37% shed 20 cents to $872.70 an ounce.
High-grade copper for September delivery HGU4 +0.05% closed down nearly a penny at $3.25 a pound.
