Crude-oil futures on Monday rose to their highest in nearly three weeks on ongoing geopolitical concerns and as Libya announced a drop in its production.
sweet crude futures for delivery in August CLQ4 +0.49% gained $1.46, or 1.4%, to settle at $104.59 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. That was crude’s highest settlement since July 1.
The August contract expires Tuesday. The more actively traded September contract rose 91 cents to end at $102.86 a barrel.
September Brent crude on London’s ICE Futures exchange UK:LCOU4 +0.24% rose 44 cents to settle at $107.68 a barrel
