gasoline futures for August RBQ4 +0.38% rose three cents, or 1.1%, to $2.8914 a gallon, while August heating oil HOQ4 +0.23% added 1.36 cents to end at $2.8588 a gallon.

October platinum PLV4 -0.43%   rose $3.50, or 0.2%, to settle at $1,493.40 an ounce, while September palladium PAU4 -1.09%   lost $4.35, or 0.5%, to $877.15 an ounce. High-grade copper for September delivery HGU4 +0.58%   gained 2 cents, or 0.6%, to end at $3.20 a pound.
