September silver SIU4 -0.74% shed a penny to $21 an ounce. October platinum PLV4 -0.46% fell $1.60 to $1,486.70 an ounce, while September palladium PAU4 -0.44% dropped 55 cents to $874.30 an ounce.

High-grade copper for September delivery HGU4 +0.72% closed flat at $3.21 a pound.
