Stocks are coming off another rough week with the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.69% off 2%, the S&P 500 Index SPX, -1.15% down 3%, and the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, -2.33% sliding 4%.
The U.S. Dollar Index DXY, -0.04% which tracks the dollar against a basket of six major currencies, rose nearly 8% over the third quarter.
