Ringgit closes lower against US dollar

The ringgit closed easier against the US dollar on Tuesday as more investors shifted their attention to the greenback as the Greek debt saga ended, dealers said.

At 5 pm, the ringgit was quoted at 3.8060/8080 against the greenback from Monday's 3.8015/8045.
A dealer said the focus returned to the greenback over the US Federal Reserve rate hike timing after a debt deal between Greece and its international lenders concluded.

Most investors expect the Fed to start raising rates later this year, in contrast to the European Central Bank and the Bank of Japan which were seen continuing with their ultra-loose monetary policies for the less-bearish future.
