Dollar hangs tight, waiting for Fed to drop more hints on policy

The dollar was almost flat against the yen and the euro in Asia trade Tuesday, as many investors remained reluctant to take large positions given the lack of fresh incentives to prompt dollar buying.

The greenback USDJPY, -0.01%  was changing hands at ¥109.29, compared with ¥109.24 late Monday in New York. The euro EURUSD, -0.0535%  was at $1.1110 midday from $1.1220 late Monday.

The WSJ Dollar Index BUXX, +0.10% a measure of the dollar against a basket of major currencies, was up 0.11% at 87.60.
