Shares of Hwang Capital (M) Bhd (HCM) rose 40 sen to RM2.61 today following the announcement of a voluntary takeover by its major shareholder.
As at 1230PM today, HCM's shares were last traded at RM2.61, or four sen short of the RM2.65 cash offer that was proposed by the offerors. Total turnover at the midday close was some 1.4 million shares.
On May 23, the financial services firm had received a notice of conditional voluntary takeover offer from Affin Hwang Investment Bank Bhd, on behalf of Hwang Enterprises Sdn Bhd and Hwang Lip Teik, to acquire all the remaining ordinary shares in HCM at a cash offer price of RM2.65 or RM469.4 mil in total.
